As the President of the Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education (ANTSHE), my goal is to assist in the educational success of nontraditional students and to continue to contribute to the academic community. I have been working hard to expand ANTSHE to become an International organization of nontrads and academic professionals, and hope this will expand the opportunities to network with a broader scope of academics.

ANTSHE is an organization that supports non-traditional students seeking to advance in their professional careers through furthering their college education. ANTSHE strives to attract students members to help them further their transition to receive an education by providing them with a support network, resources, and scholarship opportunities. ANTSHE provides support to academic professionals and institutions that support nontraditional students by providing professional development, publishing, and networking opportunities with an elite community of other academic professionals, and much more. Non-traditional students can become a member of ANTSHE in a variety of ways, which makes the organization beneficial for any non-traditional student. ANTSHE is continuing to grow and continue to assist their members any way they can, listening to comments and suggestions and adjusting their services accordingly. ANTSHE believes that it is never too late to get an education, and they will be there to support their members along the way.

Our conferences are held annually and are attended by non-traditional students, educators, leaders in education, and academic professional across the United States. Topics surrounding the adult learner/non-traditional student are the focus. ANTSHE raises awareness of the challenges that non-traditional students face and address the needs of the student through open forum discussion, presentations, and collaboration of best practices and trends in education. We are a professional organization but also believe in having fun. In addition to an active and engaging experience, attendees have unique opportunities to speak with other colleagues, leaders in education and non-traditional students in "After Hours" activities. For example, at the 2015 National Conference, the "After Hours" activities included: a Relaxation Station (caricaturist, seated chair massages, make-up and nail demonstrations), an ANTSHE Exclusive Classic Rock Concert by The Earls of Kent, and movie night featuring the movie "My Fellow Americans" complete with popcorn and candy buffet. This was a great opportunity for attendees to meet with other professionals on a different level within a casual and fun environment!

ANTSHE's mission is to provide scholarship opportunities, academic resources, and motivational support for non-traditional students, and to celebrate, and to build on the network of faculty, administrators, and advisors that work with and inspire non-traditional students to succeed.

Enhance educational opportunities for non-traditional students by yielding a vibrant support network and scholarship opportunities.
